Guitarist Przemysław Haluszczak

A graduate of Faculty of Instruments at the Ignacy Padarewski Academy of Music in Poznań, received his training in classical guitar faculty (led by Henryk Józwiak) and at the year 1990 was awarded a Master of Arts degree.

While studying in National Musical School II in Poznań he became a laureate of all-Polish guitar contests held in Strzelce Krajeńskie and Zamość. At that time, he as well started to do his first cooperation with Poznań theatres: Polski Theater, Nowy Theater, Wielki Theater and the Poznań Philharmonic. He was also working as session musician on many recordings with artists like Krzysztof Krawczyk or Urszula Sipińska.

During the studies, he specialized in Spanish and Latin American music and begun to take his first steps in flamenco guitar technique - diametrically different from his well-known classical technique. This attempt resulted in cooperation with a band named "Super Duo". During that time, he performed first concerts abroad in former Russian S.F.S.R, West Germany and Switzerland.

After the studies, he started his cooperation with Zdzisław Dworzecki, esteemed Poznań music life organizer, which resulted in first concert tour across Poland. During that time, an event worth mentioning was a cycle of concerts "Barwy gitary" ("Colours of the Guitar") with participation of musicians like: Jarosław Smietana (jazz), Wojciech Hoffman (heavy metal), Przemysław Hałuszczak (classical and flamenco guitar). First solo tape called "Canciones y danzas para guitarra" is released. Parallelly with solo concerts, he started his cooperation with Polish Dance Theater - Poznań Ballet where he performed guitar solo in "Carmen" spectacle. At the same time, he worked with the singer Hanna Banaszak, at the beginning performing in a duet that later on turned into Przemysław Haluszczak's Trio.

Since 1998 the guitarist performs only solo concerts, with occasionally help of his friends musicians: Zbigniew Łowżył, Dominik Dębski, Jacek Winkiel and Rafał Zapała. One of the most interesting exceptions was a cycle of Verba Sacra in cooperation with Henryk Machalica and "Father Pio's confessions" performance with Aleksander Machalica. A very important event in artist's musical career was first CD release "Concierto de Aranjuez" recorded with Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jose Maria Florencjo Junior. The concert connected with CD release took place in Adam Mickiewicz University Hall in Poznań, at the first anniversary of J.Rodrigo's death.

Another important event took place during the meeting with flamenco guitar virtuoso Rafael Cortez. This Spanish guitar player greatly influenced Przemysław Haluszcak's technique. Interestingly, the musician now plays on the guitar that previously belonged to the Rafaelo himself. This flamenco guitar - Hermanos Conde - 1997 is one of the most esteemed ones.

In 2006, a new album named "Flamenco" is released. The album consists of many well-known compositions for guitar by artists like Paco de Lucia, Paco Pena, Manolo Franco, Manolo Sanlucar, Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Moraito and Oscar Herrero. Nowadays the musician performs with Monika Łukasiewicz (guitar, cajon, vocal) and pianist Jarosław Kostka. The musician is currently working on another CD "Jazz meets Flamenco" that will be a combination of these two musical genres.
